Introducing the 2008 Pat Wachter Bowl Contest. Pat Wachter along with Southside Skate Shop , SkateAlabama.com and The Art of Skateboarding.com will be hosting the 2008 event at the Insanity Skate Park in Madison Alabama.
The Pat Wachter Bowl Contest is designed to positively utilize public skating facilities in ways which maintain and improve the quality of life for its residents’ and families. The contest will feature competition for all skill levels and genders. There will also be best freestyle/street trick contests to cover all skateboarding genres.
The contest is a tribute to Alabama Skateboarding legend Pat Wachter, the first professional skateboarder from Alabama. Pat was the resident pro at skate parks in Huntsville, Gadsden and Birmingham and is still heavily involved in many projects promoting Alabama Skateboarding throughout the Southeast.
Last year's event drew nearly 1000 guests and competitors to the Alabama area in the first competition of its nature in 20 years putting Alabama back on the competitive skateboarding map and in the eyes of the entire skateboarding industry.
